Roger and Claire Cohen live a love filled life in the Tri-Counties with their talented daughter, Alexandra. Their idyllic happiness is imperilled by cataclysmic events, which threaten everything they hold dear. A series of incidents warn of an ominous future as a mysterious illness threatens their community. Claire's beloved cousin, Stephanie Porter, faces tragedy amidst the puzzling disappearance of her husband, Todd. He is a senior executive, and Roger's boss, at a local health care products company, which is racing to find a cure for the illness. The mystery deepens as local pets disappear and the integrity of local law enforcement comes under siege. Roger, Claire and Stephanie struggle to unravel the mystery of Todd's disappearance, while threats to their lives and secrets that surround them undermine the trust they hold in everything they cherish.
