The powerhouse combination of violinist Jonathan Crow and pianist Philip Chiu create a style of ensemble playing that immediately captures listeners. What began as a casual musical pairing has now developed into one of Canada’s newest duos. Together, these two artists will offer an enticing and passionate concert not to be missed.
Jonathan Crow graduated from McGill at age 19 and went on to become the youngest concert master of a major North American orchestra: The Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal. He is also a founding member of the esteemed New Orford String Quartet. In 2011, he became concert master of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Philip Chiu has studied at the Glen Gould School in Toronto and at the Universite de Montreal. In 2015, he was the inaugural winner of the Prix Goyer. The award cited his extensive work with violinists Jonathan Crow and James Ehnes.
