HAUNTING HISTORIES GUIDED WALK

Ghosts, graveyards, and gruesome tales. The Brockville Museum invites you to explore a darker side of Brockville’s history this fall with their Haunting Histories guided walk. From ghosts in the attic to abandoned graves to the last hanging in Brockville, Haunting Histories is a re-imagining of the Ghost Walks previously offered by Brockville Tourism, now with new stories that not only include ghosts but also a little dark local history alongside tales of the supernatural, the mysterious, and the almost forgotten.

The tours will run Fridays this September and October, starting September 11th and wrapping up just in time for Halloween, on October 30th.

The guided walk covers a distance of 3km through the oldest parts of Brockville, starting and ending at the Brockville Museum, and lasting about 90 minutes. The Friday evening walks will depart at 4pm, with a limited capacity of 12 participants.

Tickets must be purchased in advance through the Brockville Arts Centre Box Office (online and by phoned) and are $10/person. Although not currently required, face coverings are strongly encouraged, and appropriate physical distancing will be enforced (additional health and safety measures may be put in place as determined by Public Health).

*Note: For those who would feel more comfortable with a personal experience, limited to members of their own social bubble, the Brockville Museum is offering a limited number of private walks. Cost for the private guided walk is $10/person or a minimum charge of $50 (whichever is greater). This option can only be booked by calling the museum’s Interpretation and Public Program Coordinator, Peggy, at 613-342-4397 extension 6225 and is subject to advance booking and limited availability Tuesday-Saturday.

Please note that tickets for the walking tour do not include museum admission (a museum visit can be booked separately through the Brockville Arts Centre Box Office), and participants will not have access to the museum building before or after their tour. Parental discretion is strongly advised and for safety reasons the museum cannot accept any unaccompanied minors on the walk. Tours go rain or shine and involve considerable walking, so please dress accordingly. Tickets are non-refundable unless cancelled by the museum for health or safety reasons.
